Treatment approach and additional information:  I've always been an empath. As a child growing up in Philadelphia, I had a big heart and cared for others. My friends came to me for help with their problems. I loved being successful at solving others' challenges. However, there was one seemingly insolvable crisis that deeply impacted me. My best friend suffered greatly from an eating disorder starting in her early teens and persisting even after college. I needed to understand her condition in order to support her. After high school, I attended the University of Miami, majoring in English and writing for various publications. My ambition was to write an advice column with shared input modeled after the “Ask Alice" feature. The psychology field never appeared on my radar until my terrific mother pointed out that my writings featured psychology-based topics, and she encouraged my pursuit of this exciting field. During my junior year, I enjoyed some psychology courses and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Miami. My experiences interning at a drug and alcohol clinic, a hospital and a mental health facility confirmed my career decision and overcame any nervousness from the gravity of the illnesses confronting me professionally and the closeness of my friend's struggles.

After a life altering event in my own life, I took charge of my career and commenced my private practice, Therapy For Success. Today my practice has expanded dramatically with several other therapists joining our team. Our patients deal with, among other pathologies, eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, obesity and other food, weight and exercise issues. As a licensed professional counselor, my greatest satisfaction is traveling the successful journey with my patients to the "other side” Patients tell me it's a privilege to have me in their lives. I disagree. The privilege is all mine.
