Therapy is a collaborative relationship between the therapist and the individual or family, where barriers to change can be explored and challenged. Each individual's personal history deserves understanding and respect, and is used to help identify how unhealthy patterns developed. A focus on the here‐and‐now allows the individual to explore feelings and thoughts, and to make behavioral changes that will enhance their relationships. In addition to addressing problem areas, therapy also focuses on personal growth and wellness.
