Working with people with eating disorders since: 1993
Specialties and Populations Served: I work with pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults who suffer from eating disorders and body image concerns. Many of my clients have co-occuring concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression and autism. I work with both individuals and families to foster an environment that promotes recovery.
Treatment approach and additional information: In my work with eating disorders, I work collaboratively with dietitians, doctors, and school personnel to provide the support needed for recovery. My approach is trauma informed, mindfulness informed and family based therapy informed. I utilize a psychodynamic framework to understand the whole person, and I integrate, FBT, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness strategies into the treatment. I always include the family in the treatment to support the client, and with adolescents family involvement is primary. I was formerly the assistant program director at the Medical Center and Princeton Eating Disorder program, a primary therapist at the Rader Institute, and a therapist in the outpatient department at the Renfrew Center. I have been in private practice for 22 years.
